Don was my friend. He & Jake Vest gave me lots of laughs and friendship. I also had a big crush on him. He was a gentleman and very handsome. Rest in peace.

My condolences. Don was one of my editors and mentors at the Sentinel in the 1970s. He was a great guy and a great journalist. I´ve thought about him often over the years. I appreciate everything he did for me. He touched a lot of lives.
