Not sure what to say?

Mr.Yarborough was a great friend to my uncle"Bill Renfro", He spoke so highly of Mr.Yarborough. He is also deceased, but I remember great stories about what a wonderful and honest man he was, with much integrity and loyalty to our country. What a great loss to us all!

I always considered Don Yarborough to be a genuine Texas hero and legend, a true representative of the people and so unlike what passes for a politician today.

God bless Don Yarborough.

Dear Charity,

A thousand memories of Don come to mind for Bill and me! We adored him. Bill and Don were good friends since the 40s. Although we had not seen him in years, he always remained close in our hearts. Don adored you ... thank you for all the years of joy you gave him.

I wish we could have come to Houston for the funeral .. can't drive out of town now ... but our son Bill (Don's godchild) was there for us.

Our love to you and the family ... Bill...

I never met Mr. Yarborough. As a 15 year old kid growing up in the Texas Panhandle in 1968, I picked him as my candidate for Governor of Texas. I passed out literature and talked him up as much as I could to my parent's friends and neighbors. He made a significant impression on me and my political thinking. He would have been able to bring Texas out of the dark ages had our state had the sense to elect him. I still have a brochure from his 1968 campaign. My sympathies to the Yarborough...

It was my pleasure to meet and visit with THE Don Yarborough in the 60's when I was deeply involved in Senator Ralph Yarborough's race when then Congressman George Bush tried to unseat him in 1964.

Don's charisma was unmatched .. he had an unusually impressive way of warmly shaking your hand and simultaneously gently but firmly looking you directly in the eye, smiling and saying "Hello, I am Don Yarborough (still holding your hand) I sure would like to have your vote".

Mrs. Yarborough, our family sends sympathy. My dad, Judge H.A. Holmes of Sheffield, and all his family supported Don each time he ran for gov-I recall putting up posters for him when teaching school in Eagle Paqss in1968. Kindly, J.W. Holmes, now of Arlington, Tx.

Dearest Charity and family, We just heard about Don's death, and he will be so deeply missed. We will always remember him with love and fondness. He was a wonderful man with a brilliant mind and spirit. We hope you know how much we care and will miss our dear friend of many years. George remembers Don as having such an exceptional mind and wonderful compelling nature, and knows that he and Ed Cogburn were strong influences in his becoming involved in the Democratic party.

While I was never privileged to know Mr. Yarborough personally, I am lucky enough to see his spirit of fairness, equality, and justice in his son Patrick. Thank you to the Yarborough Family for carrying on his kindness and compassion.
