On April 30, 2014, Don Yee began his final journey home. Don was born on June 24, 1940, to Dick and Betty Yee in Woodland California. Don grew up in Woodland and later San Jose. As a boy and young man he learned the grocery and commercial real estate business from his father. The family owned Dick's supermarkets. Don went on to become a successful businessman in his own right and was very well known and respected in San Jose.
Don's time on earth was spent helping everyone without ever asking anything in return. He was always the first to step up for family and friends no matter how difficult the task or challenge. Good people like Don leave this world better for having lived and all who knew him blessed for having the chance to call him friend. Don is survived by his beloved Cathy, brothers Gene, Ed and Melvin, wonderful nieces and nephews, and his extended San Diego family. We will miss you Don and see you again one day.
Funeral services for Don will be held at the Chapel of the Roses, Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose. Visitation 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, May 14 and services on Saturday, May 17, starting at noon. After internment at Oak Hill, a celebration of life reception will be held at The Three Flames Restaurant, 1547 Meridian Avenue, San Jose, beginning at 2pm.

Don was one of our favorite customers at the Walgreens Pharmacy on Almaden & Koch.....he Always came in with a smile and something pleasant to chat about while he waited for his prescription...always patient but appreciative that we were doing our best for him and Cathy.
The rest of the Team(Vicki, Miriam, MyHahn,Vanessa, Delia and Mildred) were Very Shocked and Saddened by the news.....He Simply was taken Much Too Soon. Rest in Peace, Mr.Yee.

It was my pleasure to get to know Don over the past 17 years.During our visits his most affable manner always lit up the room for myself and my staff. We shared some common friends and roots in Yolo county, and I tapped his recipes whenever possible !
Rest in peace my friend you will be sorely missed.

We met Don through his sister Virginia, our neighbor, who passed almost two years ago. He was always there for her. He was a wonderful person and I know he'll be missed by all his family and friends.

I have known Don since 1975. He was my neighbor for more that 25 years. Don was like a brother; sharing, caring, very supportive and generous. A major part of our lives have been taken away. May God bless Don throughout eternity.
