Donna was born in Flint, Michigan on November 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Blenford and Flossie (Howe) Kelly. On July 15, 1953, she married Robert John Labosky. Donna was employed with The Flint Journal and the Clara Elizabeth Fund. She retired from Genesee Intermediate School District in 1993, where she worked for over 20 years. Donna loved her daughters and their families. From holiday baking to annual summer vacations across the country to day-long shopping trips at Jacobson’s, she created special traditions and memories with her girls. She had a sophisticated eye for style – always impeccably dressed. Donna was a talented potter and loved her Flint Institute of Arts “pottery family” of over 40 years. Donna took great pride in the design of a beautiful home graced with her pottery creations.

Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of being part of Donna's "pottery family", where she was a valued member. She was by far the best-dressed potter in the group and she frequently delighted us with her wit and plainspokenness. Donna dearly loved her family and in her final years in class, she spent many class sessions making tall mugs for her grandchildren. I will hold her memory fondly in my heart.

Always loved talking to Donna. Saw her occasionally at Panera and picked up on what we were doing post retirement. Nice long life, rest in peace.

Donna was my student in my pottery classes for over 40 years. Our classes go way beyond just making pottery, it is truly an extended family. Donna was such an inspiration to all that met her, still coming to class and making things until she was 90.
A fixture at the Flint Institute of Art pottery classes, she will be missed by so many. A beautiful person in all ways.
It was students like her that make teaching worthwhile.

Sue , Stacie, Kim and families
My heart goes out to you. You were her pride and joy.
A dear friend. We had such great times over the years. Yes, she was an amazing, smart, elegant, classy, caring, and special lady. All of those words fit her to a T. She will be missed.

Ms. Labosky was one of the most elegant, classy woman I knew. I always admired how well she cared for and how close she was to Sue, Stacey and Kim. My mom and I would often find ourselves at the same event or location around Flint as the Laboskys. I thought it was so sweet how the family did so many fun things together. Ms. Labosky was always so sweet and kind. She always seemed to be interested in what you had to say. I’ll always hold a special place in my heart for Ms. Labosky and the...

Kim, Sue and Stacie - I am so sorry for your loss of a terrific Mom. She was one of a kind. I will cherish the memories I have of the times we spent shopping at Jacobsons, Ann Arbor Art Fairs and the annual Mole Hole Christmas open houses. She was so proud of you three and your families.

Stacey Patrick and Casey, our deepest condolences on your loss may she be at peace in the arms of angels!

Dear Sue, Stacie and Kim: Our deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. What a talented and classy lady. Treasure those times with her as they will bring you peace and comfort. Please know that our family is keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
