Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

BLONDIN, Donna Mercedes – Of Grand Blanc, age 94, died Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc. 


Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, August 21. 2020 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Bob McGraw officiating.


Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.


Private visitation will be held 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Thursday with a Rosary being prayed at 7 p.m.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.


Donna was born in Flint, Michigan on August 24, 1925, the daughter of the late Arthur and Pauline Danborn and was a resident of the Flint and Grand Blanc areas.


On June 2, 1945 she married Louis J. Blondin Jr. at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Flint.


She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.


Donna was a wonderful homemaker, devoted to her family. She loved sports and attending all of the families games.


Surviving are children, Sharon (Tom) Shannon, Michael (Diana) Blondin, Patrick (Cheryl) Blondin, Larry (Linda)  Blondin, Kathy (Dave) Kosnosky, Mary Lou (Gordy) Henry and Tom (Cathy) Blondin;


17 grandchildren and  31 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Blondin, Jr.; parents; sisters, Pat Dunlap and June Mangiaracina.

She had amazing kindness love and support from her children and grandchildren. May comfort and peace surround you and yours in the coming days ahead♀

Pat, Mike and I are so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I remember her as a great and funny lady. I remember hearing stories about her at Parent/Teacher conferences at Holy Redeemer and how she would look in each teacher’s room and say “Do you have one of mine?” We will keep your family in our prayers.
