Donna Burdick

Donna Rae Burdick of Tillamook, Oregon, passed away on February 22, 2017 at the age of 85 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Burdick of 46 years. Donna was born October 25, 1931 in Bayfield, Colorado. She graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1950. Donna lived in Colorado, Utah, and Kansas before moving her family to Tillamook, Oregon where she met the love of her life, John Burdick. They were married September 25, 1971. Donna worked as a bartender for Pirates Cove, Victory House, Cedar Bay Restaurant and the Tillamook Elks Lodge for many years. Family was very important to her. She loved cooking large meals and having all the family sit at the table together. After meals, Donna would have the children and grandchildren sit around the table to play cards. She delighted in winning the games and gloating about it! Donna and John welcomed friends and neighbors into their home. She became Grandma to more than just family. All were welcomed to join in the family tradition of 65 years of making Christmas popcorn balls! In her retirement years, Donna loved to watch her kids' events through social media. She delighted in seeing pictures and reading stories of her grandkids daily lives. She looked forward to Weddings, Birthdays, and Holidays. Donna had 8 children, 19 Grandchildren, and 23 Great-grandchildren. Donna is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Tommye and Doug Paddock and her children: David & Donna Patterson of Corpus Christi, Texas, Paula Olson of Bend, Oregon, Ken & Rindy Patterson of Castle Rock, Washington, Tami & Tom Steinbach of Hillsboro, Oregon, Toni & Kevin Whitworth of Elkton, Oregon, John Burdick Jr. of Eugene-Springfield, Oregon, Dean Burdick & Yvonne Garcia, Casey Jo Hein & Mike Fossbind of Tillamook, Oregon. Donna was preceded in death by her parents William Edward and Pearl Lena Kingsley, sister, Billie June McClaren, son-in-law Dennis Olson, and granddaughter, Megan Price. A memorial service for both John and Donna Burdick will be held Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Officers Club (Tillamook Air Base), 6825 Officers Row¸ Tillamook, OR. The family asks that donations be made to Tillamook Chaplin Services, 5995 Long Prairie Rd, Tillamook, OR 97141. A potluck lunch will be served after the service.
