Send FlowersDonna M. Caputo JOHNS ISLAND - Donna M. Caputo of Johns Island entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2009, at the age of 70, after a courageous battle fighting leukemia. She was born on July 26, 1939, in Pittsburgh, and married her husband of 49 years, John, at Sts. Simon and Jude Church in Scott Township, PA. A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Donna worked as a fashion illustrator for many years. She was an accomplished artist, an avid gardener, and a devout animal lover. She is survived by her devoted husband, John J. Caputo; brother Peter and his wife, Peggy; son Dr. Gregg Caputo and his wife, Denise; daughter Dr. Traci Lennon and her husband, Andy; son Dr. Christopher Caputo and his wife, Dee Dee; seven grandchildren; and three nieces. Visitation beginning with a brief wake service will be held at the James McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy, on August 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 120 Broad St., Charleston, on August 27, at 10:00 a.m. Donations in Donna's memory may be made to either the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
