Not sure what to say?

Best teacher I ever had! I will never forget the Ides of March!

Mrs. Cullen was my favorite high school teacher. I will never forget how she celebrated the Ides of March with togas and black arm bands. I used to know the "Friends, Romans, Countrymen" speech from Julius Caesar by memory because of her. We were truly blessed to have had her as a teacher in East Grand Rapids.

Mrs. Cullen was a warm, witty, wise soul who had a gift for making her classes fun while sneaking learning into the laughter. I am lucky to have fond memories of her that I will cherish. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Thank you all for your thoughtful notes. I am in Albuquerque and Mary (Sis) now lives in San Francisco. We sincerely appreciate you sharing your thoughts and memories with us.

Oh dear Mrs. Cullen--how you inspired my love of 'Bill' (Shakespeare). I've often recalled my freshman Humanities English days as the most linguistically exciting, thanks to your enthusiasm.

A sad bid adieu--Ann Louise Wagner ('81)

Mrs. Cullen taught both me and my sister Ginny at EGRHS in the late seventies. My mother passed away during that time and she made a dramatic impact on my sister's life, not only sharing a love of English, but genuinely caring for her. I know that Ginny will be happy to be reunited with her again in the Kingdom of God. RIP Mrs. Cullen. Your life made a difference to countless students. Well done, good and faithful servant!

When in her English class in ninth grade at EGR I didn't know I would become an instructor of English myself. I remember her teaching us Shakespeare.

One of my all time favorite teachers. She was also one of the best! We were lucky to have her.
