Donna Jean Foster

Donna Foster, age 76, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Donna was born on March 23, 1949 to the late Roy Vertrees Girdler and Jenniav Stringer Girdler. She was a member of Ringgold Methodist Church.  Donna worked as a Clerk for Lake Cumberland Home Health.   She loved to travel, read, work puzzles and spend time with family.  She was a member of the Backwoods Sportsman Club.  Donna was known for making the greatest lasagna in the world!

She is survived by two sons, Bryan S. Foster and Jeremy G. Foster; one daughter, Amy Foster; four grandsons, Dustin Bauer, Bryson Halberg, Peyton Foster and Colton Foster; nephews, Kenton Girdler and Benton Girdler; and other family members, friends and neighbors who are saddened by her passing.  

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Jerry Foster, whom she married on July 6, 1973 in Faubush, KY and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2006; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dewey and Dorothy Ard Foster; two brothers, Gilbert Girdler and Dennis Girdler; and one grandson, Caleb Halberg.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 from 11:00am until 1:00pm   at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
