LORAIN – Frank W. "Fritz" Pavlovcic, 96 of Lorain passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in New Life Hospice Center of St. Joseph, Lorain.
He was born April 19, 1919 in Lorain and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Lorain High School in 1937.
Fritz retired in 1986 as a Cutter- Grinder for the Ford Engine Plant 2, in Brookpark. He worked there for over 37 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army fighting in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe.
Fritz was a member of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish Church, Lorain. He was a member of the former Saints Cyril and Methodius Slovenian Catholic Church, Lorain, Fritz was a member of the Holy Name Society for over 50 years and named Holy Name Man of the Year. He was a life member of the AMVETS. He was also a member of the KSKJ, Lorain Slovenian Home and a member of the United Auto Workers Local 1250, Brookpark.
He will be missed by his son Frank W. of Lorain; daughter Kathy (Alan) Szarek of Lorain; grandchildren Dr. Frank (Laenne Thompson) Pavlovcic, Heather Pavlovcic, Matthew Pavlovcic, Terry Shullick and Deb Michael; great grandchildren Sierra and Rylie Michael and a nephew George Pavlovcic.
Fritz was preceded in death by his loving wife Frances "Fran" (née Perkovich) Pavlovcic 15 days ago; his parents Frank and Mary (née Kosten) Pavlovcic; brothers Carl and Ray Pavlovcic and a nephew Carl Pavlovcic.
His family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 PM in Richard J. Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, where Closing Prayers will be Saturday at 9:00 then Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM in St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish Church, 2143 Homewood Drive (at Grove Ave. Rt. 57). Rev. Father John C. Retar, Pastor will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
Fritz's family is sincerely appreciative of Elmcroft Senor Living and New Life Hospice for the compassionate care given to their father.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Parish Church, 2143 Homewood Drive, Lorain Ohio 44055.
