Donna Grace Petri

Donna Grace (Shreves) Petri, age 80, of Topeka, passed away February 3, 2021 at the Rossville Health and Rehab.  Donna was born February 23, 1940 at Council Bluffs, Iowa to Roy and Vesta Shreves.  She met Allen Petri at Lincoln Bible Institute and they married on January 11, 1963.  They lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin until 1967, when they moved to Lawrence, Kansas to be closer to her brother, Gordon, and his family.  Donna and Allen both retired from USD 501 after a number of years.  Donna leaves behind a legacy of music and a love of reading.  She played piano in several churches and touched numerous lives with her music.  Donna will be remembered for her contagious laugh that brought joy to many family gatherings.  Donna is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Allen Petri; a daughter, Erica (Bill) Riley; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and an assortment of nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Rosalie, and two brothers, Kenneth and Gordon Shreves. 

A celebration of life will be Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Silver Lake Baptist Church, Silver Lake.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Silver Lake Baptist Church and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral home.  davidsonfuneral.com
