Donna J. Reed, of Flushing,
age 81, died Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Concerned Country Care in Montrose. Funeral service will be held 11am Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Father John Ederer officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday and 12-8pm Thursday and 10am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home. A Vigil Service will be held 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Donna was born in Flint on October 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Edward and Anna (DeGuise) Doutre and was a resident of Flushing. On January 24, 1948, she married William F. Reed in Flint and he preceded her in death in 2001. Donna was a Nurse's Aide at McLaren. Donna loved being a mother,
grandmother and the neighborhood babysitter. Surviving are children, Michael (Mary Lou), Kathy (Clarance) Putney, William A. (Charlotte), Nancy (Ronald) Reed, Robert, Jill (Robert) Kendrick, Daniel and the late Dolores and Gary (Gail); 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Wright, brother, Donald (Diane) Doutre, brother-in-law, Claude DeShong. She was preceded in death by husband, daughters-in-law, Dolores Reed and Debra Reed, brother, Edward Doutre Jr., sisters, Anna Anderson, Ruth DeShong, Lillian Reynolds and Margaret Redwood. Donna and I started on 5north. She was a wonderful nurse and a loyal friend .I have fond memories of her . We has such good laughs even when working so hard. Donna always put in a day work before even getting to work.She will be missed by all.
