Not sure what to say?

Donna was so intertwined with my family. She taught many years with my mother-in-law, Anna Louise Miller, she was my daughter's first grade teacher (who wanted to invite her to her wedding this summer), and then I taught first grade across the hall at Thorntown Elementary with her until I was moved to sixth grade. She was so helpful; it was a delight to teach with her as a colleague and friend. She was warm, cheerful, and always wore a smile. Like many others, I can't believe she's gone. I...

We were so saddened to learn that Mrs. Sanders has passed away. She was my children's first grade teacher at Thorntown Elementary School in Thorntown In. She was a wonderful, loving and dedicated teacher. She always had a smile and deeply cared for her students. We all loved her and felt lucky to have had her as our teacher. Our deepest sympathies to her family.

Sheryl, words cannot express how sad I am for you. I’m sending you and your entire family prayers as you grieve over the loss of your Mom. It is clear that she lived life to the fullest and loved the same way! May your precious memories help ease your pain. Love you!

Donna was always a special friend over the years. I have always admired the way she gave of herself to her family and her community. She will be greatly missed by those of us at exercise class and her church and teacher friends and the many other groups she was a part of. She touched many lives! I am so thankful to have had her in my life! Kay Burgess

I am so sorry for your loss. Donna was a very kind person.

Christmas Eve

Dear Aunt Donna I will miss you more than words can express. Our Christmas Eve tradition will never be forgotten and I hope to always make you proud. I love you

I was one of her first graders at Thorntown!! I always remembered her as one of the nicest teachers. One day at school I had a loose front tooth hanging by a thread and I started crying at lunch because I couldn't eat. She came over put her arm around me and asked what was wrong. I opened my mouth, showed her and told her I couldn't eat. She said well lets just take care of that. She told me to take a deep breath and she pulled it out. She was my hero that day! My thoughts and prayers are...

Ms Sanders was a wonderful example to her kids, neighbors and students. She taught us to have a laugh and enjoy life while still striving for academic success and personal growth. May her memory and example carry on through all of us.....

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. It is not easy to lose a Spouse, Mother, Sister, or Grandmother but with God's help, family, and friends, you manage. All of you have my deepest sympathy. With Donna's Father, Mr. Richardson, being my class sponsor, we have had many occasions to spend time together.
Donna was a wonderful lady. She will be missed. May God be with each of you as you cope with your loss.
Rosemary .
