Seel, Donna R. (Creedon)- Of East Boston, formerly of Somerville, passed away on Saturday November 12, 2022. She was 75.
Born in Charlestown to the late John and Anne (De St. Croix) Creedon.
Beloved wife of the late Thomas R. Seel Sr. who passed away in September 2022.
Loving mother of Thomas R. Seel Jr. and his wife Holly of Winthrop and Laura A. Seel of East Boston.
Cherished grandmother to the late Thomas R. Seel III.
Dear sister of Deborah Reid of Malden, Marilyn Sawicki of York, Maine, Jean Creedon of Revere and the late John Creeden of Somerville, Charles Creedon of Somerville and Anne Creedon of Everett.
Donna was born in Charlestown, MA. She attended Cardinal Cushing High School.
Donna’s first job was at the Schrafft’s Candy Factory, near the old Charlestown Navy yard. There she met her late beloved husband of 55 years, Tom, a sailor on the U.S.S. Wasp.
Donna worked for PDC (Product Development Corp) for many years where she met several life long friends. Moving to East Boston later in life, she retired from the City of Boston after 15 years in the payroll department.
Donna was always on the go. She loved going on long car rides, romantic walks and shopping anywhere with Tom. She was an avid reader and loved cooking for her family.
On a typical Sunday, you would catch Donna reading a book in her chair while the family was watching football. She loved having everyone gathered together cooking up their favorite meals.
Donna was fun loving, smiled all the time and always had a sparkle in her eye. She was a natural care taker and always kind.
She was lovingly known as Auntie Donna to the Reids and Marshalls and Nana Seel to the Dragos, Hansens, Gages, Kemmetts, Moores and many more. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews
Donna, Tom, Laura and Tom Jr. (aka T.J.) especially want to thank our Visiting Angels, Mirlene Villarcon Dorsainville and Theresa Alejandro who helped take care of Donna and Tom over the last few years. Their help and support were invaluable.
Calling Hours will be held at the George L. Doherty Funeral Home 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) on Sunday, November 20th from 2:00PM to 5:00PM.
A prayer service will be conducted in the funeral home at 4:30PM.

Auntie Donna was not only an amazing aunt, but a 2nd mom to many of us. Thank you Auntie Donna and Uncle Tom for all the holiday dinners, weekend trips to the Cape, shopping, singing oldies, and even going to church. Memories that I will always cherish and never forget. You both will truly be missed, but never forgotten. Until we meet again, I love you.
