Whitson, Donna "Charlie" Maxine Jett

Donna "Charlie" Maxine Jett Whitson passed away at Moses Cone Hospital at February 9, 2022 at the age of 74. She was a loving wife, supportive mother, indulgent grandmother and faithful sister. Her life will be celebrated on February 26 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church in Greensboro, officiated by Reverend Jeff Johnsen and following the service, inurned at Westminster Gardens. Her family will receive friends prior to the service at the church.

Charlie was born in Hickory, NC to the late John Harvey and Sarah Livingston Jett. She had an infectious laugh, sparkling smile and generous nature, all of which attracted Ted Whitson, who she married in 1966 and shared 55 wonderful years. Charlie especially enjoyed quilting and gardening but most of all traveling the world with Ted. She had a nurturing and benevolent spirit and even at the end of life continued to give to others as an organ donor.

In addition to Ted, she is survived by her son, Brent and his wife Carolina; grandchildren, Oliver, Sofia and Clemente; and siblings, John, Roger and Bruce Jett, Patrice Thrift and Marty Anderson. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her siblings, Maleah Haas and Scott Jett.
