Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Burkburnett Obituary

Donnie Park of Burkburnett went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 11.  He was 78 years old.

Born in Wichita Falls, Texas March 15, 1942 to Fred and Lucille Park.  He was an only child.  He grew up on a family farm at Taylor Store, Oklahoma.  He graduated from Temple High School in 1959.

Donnie was a loving husband, father, grandpa, uncle, and friend.  He had a deep and abiding faith in Christ. He worked in mortgage lending for over 50 years, and was at First Bank for over 25 years.  Donnie helped many first time homebuyers with their loan.  Donnie also coached little league baseball in Burkburnett in the 1970s and 80s.

On June 1, 1973, Donnie married Beverly Park.  They lived in Burkburnett for over 45 years.  Donnie had two children, Scooter and Misty.

Donnie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Burkburnett.  Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and his wives Rita and Beverly.

Left to honor Donnie and remember his love are his daughter Misty Park of Nashville, Tennessee; son Richard “Scooter” Park and daughter-in-law Lisa of Devol, Oklahoma; grandson Jeron Park and his wife Kourtlin and great-grandson Rett of Cookietown, Oklahoma; granddaughter Marissa Park and great-grandson Kayse of San Antonio; granddaughters Allison Lucus and Meredith Lucus of Dallas, several nieces and nephews and an abundance of family and friends.

Due to Covid, there will be a private family graveside.  Instead of a formal visitation, people are welcome to visit Owens and Brumley in Burkburnett.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Not sure what to say?

Donnie was a good man, father and husband. A friend to many and a help in difficult times.

My Thoughts and Prayers to the Park Family
Donnie was a frequent face at the Ag building , and shows where Scooter and I had shown back in school.
Many Hugs and much Love.

Donnie was very well-known in this area. He always seemed polite and well-informed. I know Scooter and Lisa will miss him terribly. We are praying for comfort and peace for them.

Donnie's smile and friendly greeting will be greatly missed by my staff and I, was a pleasure having him as a customer, prayers to the family

So sorry about the passing of Donnie, such a friendly kind man, I knew him for years , went to his bank and visited with him not very long ago. He knew both of my husbands and he will see them in heaven, Huey Long and Larry Ford.

Donnie was the best boss, mentor and friend. He believed in me when no one else did. He gave everyone a nickname and mine was Minnie. He left a huge impression on not only me but everyone he encountered. He will be greatly missed! Continuous prayers go out to his family and friends!

Prayers for today, tomorrow and always ❤

Mr. Park was a remarkable man. I thought the world of him. Sorry to the family for his loss. Heaven gained a good one.
