The Beginning:

The incredible blessing known as Donnie Joe Simmons was born on October 17, 1945, to Jack and Lenora Simmons. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Galilee Baptist Church in Devers, Texas.

Donnie Joe attended Devers Elementary School and graduated from Hull Daisetta High School. After completing his education, he enlisted in the United States Army. Upon returning from his service in Vietnam, he worked for R.B. Evans Farm and Ranching in Devers.

Donnie Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lenora Simmons, as well as three brothers: Reverend Joe Raymond Lewis, Robert L. Simmons, and Edward P. Simmons.

He leaves behind cherished memories of his daughter, LaToya M. Turner (JaCarole W.
