Mr. Donny Arville Ivester

Mr. Donny Arville Ivester, age 63, of Toccoa, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born July 21, 1955, he was the son of the late Stephens Odis and Mildred Cheek Ivester. Donny grew up in the Red Hill Community and was of the Christian Faith. He loved sports including the Atlanta Falcons, the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a 1973 graduate of Franklin County High School and retired from Lockheed Martin in Marietta. Family members include his wife, Dannah Ross Ivester; daughter, Julie Dubose of Marietta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Derek Arville Ivester and Jamie Lynn Ivester of Summerville, SC; step-children, April Lynn Nelson, Christopher Crowe, Michael Crowe, and Joseph Crowe; grandchildren; step-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Cannon, Sandra Buffington, Connie Purcell, and Angie Vandiver; nieces, nephews, other special family members, Kevin, Tasha, Heavalyn, and Corey Byrum; and many other loved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Ivester and James Edwin Ivester; sister, Peggy Wilson; and his step-son, Tyler Ryan Crowe. Funeral services will be held at four o'clock Friday, June 21, 2019 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jewell Gaines officiating. Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Corey Byrum, Traivius Dubose, Stephen Ivester, Dustin Purcell, Jalen Dubose, and Damian Ivester. Kaden Canady and Alex Purcell will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Thursday, June 20, 2019.
