Dontae Michael Eugene Kerns-Shears, infant son of Shane Shears and Alta Kerns of Shinnston, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2004 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born December 21, 2003 at Morgantown. In addition to his parents he is survived by his maternal grandparents; Loren and Tempest Kerns of Lumberport; Maternal Great Grandparents; Lee and Alta Cottrill of Lumberport; Paternal Grandparents; Elizabeth Holmes of Shinnston and Clenten Shears of Parkersburg; Paternal Great Grandmother; Ella Swiger of Clarksburg; three uncles; Joshua Garrett of Gypsy, Gene Swiger of Mannington, Shawn Shears of Shinnston; and one aunt; Venessa Kerns of Gypsy. Family and friends will be received at the Dorsey Funeral Home from 11-1 p.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2004 where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Richard Wilson officiating.
