Dora Everett, 72, of Wichita Falls passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020.
A Rosary and Vigil will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in the Chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. Alex Ambrose, celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow.
Dora was born on November 11, 1948 in Wichita Falls, Texas to John and Annie Everett. She worked at TXU Electric for 10 years and then River Creek Golf Course for 15 years. She then ventured on to being an optician for over 30 years and was most recently employed at Walmart Vision Center where she touched so many people.
We cannot emphasize how selfless and giving she truly was. She was very compassionate to others and so strong willed. She may have had a tough exterior but she had a heart of gold. If you knew Dora you knew she was the most well dressed and always dressed to the T. She held herself to the highest of standards and she was the classiest woman. She loved to cook for her family and she was the best. She was a perfectionist at everything she did. She was a mother to so many and she would listen to anything and give great advice. She was our matriarch and our everything from our own personal nurse to our own personal advisor. We want to thank God for blessing us with a woman that was so kind hearted and who loved each of us immensely. In her own famous words, “We love you, mom”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Everett; brother, Johnny Everett; and sister, Gloria Everett.
Dora is survived by one daughter, the love of her life, Loretta Casillas and Fiancé Donny and youngest son Brynden Dugan; brothers, Tony Everett and wife Ermina of St. Paul, Minnesota, and Freddy Everett of Wichita Falls, Texas; sisters, Susie Mcclure and husband John of Wichita Falls, Rosie Tigert and husband Jim of Wichita Falls, Linda Everett of Wichita Falls, and Brenda Maya and husband Juan of Arlington. She also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces who she loved with all her heart. She was better known as “Aunt Reeny” to them all.

My sweetest Aunt Doriny, I cannot believe you are gone. You were so much more than an Aunt to Josh and I. I always looked forward to telling you everything because you were truly excited for everything we did! The love you had for us will never be replaced. You were a beautiful soul inside and out!! You shined your light on every single one of us. You always made sure we were always taken care of. We will always be here for Loretta and each other like you were always there for us. Our hearts...

Dora was and is one of the sweetest people I have ever been blessed to know. She always had a kind word and a laugh at craziness with me every morning I was luck to work with her. I am so sorry her ray of sunshine is gone now, but I pray for peace in this difficult time for her family.

I still can’t believe your gone. You were my work Mom and protector. You always loved me, took care of me, and guided me. I will miss your hugs, your personality, your phone calls, but most of all your love. Rest Easy! You have earned it by a life well lived!
Loretta, my prayers will always be with you. She loved you with all her heart! We talked about you every single day. She was so proud of you!
