Mystic - Dora (Bailey) Lundie, 94, of Academy Lane, Mystic, formerly of Terry Road, Gales Ferry, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Fairview in Groton.

Mrs. Lundie was born on June 11, 1918, in Montpelier, Vt., the daughter of Jason and Hallie (Templeton) Bailey.

Dora was married on Aug. 23, 1941, in Quincy, Mass., to Alan S. Lundie. Mr. Lundie passed away on June 25, 2003.

Mrs. Lundie was a graduate of Becker College and spent the majority of her working career as a bookkeeper for the University of Connecticut at Avery Point in Groton.

Her main devotion was to her family. She had also been a longtime member of the United Methodist Church of Gales Ferry. Over the years, she had served in many volunteer capacities including the Gales Ferry Library, the PTA., and as a Boy Scout den mother.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane L. Lamb of Ledyard; four sons, Brian J. Lundie of Gales Ferry, Paul T. Lundie of Southington, Col. Robert S. Lundie, (USAF, ret.) of Boise, Idaho, Lt. Col. Donald A. Lundie (USAF, ret.) of Yorktown, Pa.; her sister, Helen Witham of Vermont; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St., is assisting her family with the arrangements and services which will be private.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations in her memory be direct to either the Fairview Patient's Recreation Fundd, 235 Lestertown Road., Groton, CT 06340 or the Alzheimer's Assoc., Connecticut Chapter, 2075 Silas Dean Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. Please find peace and comfort in Psalms 65:2.

Sorry to hear of the loss of Dora. She was a nice person, and I will remember fondly the opportunities I had to meet her while at the Senior Center in Gales Ferry. My condolences to her family.

Dora was a very special lady, who is remembered fondly at the Gales Ferry Library.
