Dora S. (Dorie) Fugate – 91 of Bristol, VA, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Hiltons, VA to the late Jessie Salyer and Roba H. Davis Salyer, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Gate City. Dorie was very active with First Baptist Church’s Cross Roads Community Outreach Program. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Fugate, nine sisters, and three brothers.
Dorie is survived by her numerous nieces, nephews, many many friends, and her canine companion, Pee Wee.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 6-8 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, Weber City, VA. Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Spurrier Cemetery with Pastor Andy Barnes officiating. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:50 AM.
