Doris Fagerstrom Bailey, widow of Benjamin Bailey, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 23, 2015.

The relatives and friends of Doris F. Bailey are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Thursday, February 26, 2015, at the James A. McAlister Chapel. Interment, Holy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends this Wednesday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM at the James A. McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Hwy.

Doris was born in Charleston, SC on March 4, 1922, one of three children born to Thorston and Doris Boucher Fagerstrom. She was a retired Medical Assistant working for many years for Drs. DeSaussure, Jervey and Smith at Medical Associates on Gadsden Street.

Doris was an active member of the Charleston Lion?s Club Ladies Auxiliary, the QuisQui Club and the Elk?s Does. She enjoyed traveling to Citadel Football games and maintained an active social life with her and Ben?s many friends.

Doris is survived by a step-daughter, Patricia Bailey Regan, of Charleston; two step-sons, Benjamin Bailey, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant and Robert C. Bailey, Sr. and his wife, Joyce, of Charleston; six grandchildren, Ronda F. Elston, Rodney Fike, Kelly Regan Duffy, Robert Condon Bailey, Jr., Thomas Benjamin Bailey and Mary Helen Bailey as well as eight great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, a son, Ronald E. Fike and two brothers, Robert Allen Fagerstrom and Richard Fagerstrom

Memorial contributions may be made to the Citadel Brigadier Foundation, 171 Moultrie St., Charleston, SC 29409, Bishop England High School, 363 Seven Farms Dr. Daniel Island, SC 29492, or to the Church of the Good Shepherd, 1393 Miles Dr., Charleston, SC 29407.
