Doris Roberts "Madame" Bourgeois

I was saddened to hear of Madame's passing. My deepest sympathies to her family. I was fortunate to have Madame for a French teacher at LHS as well as able to go on one of her infamous school sponsored trips to France. I STILL look at those pictures and laugh. It was an amazing time, and it was because Madame made it most interesting and exciting. Everytime I eat a french pastry or see a picture of Notre Dame, I think of her.

I was sorry to hear of Madame Bourgois' passing. I was a student of hers in the early 80's and owe my appreciation of French Impressionism to her.

I will miss Madame very much. I had her as a french teacher from 1983-1986. She taught me to appreciate the french language, art and history. I have many beloved memories of her. I was always thankful to her for being so kind and generous to me during a very difficult senior year. It was an honor to help her with her housework from time to time and visit with her. God Bless.

Madame was a friend of my late mother and my aunt. Later, she was my teacher of high school French. In addition to teaching us French, she also taught us about art and art history. My French was passing, but my life-long love of fine art began in her clasroom. To this day, I can never look at a Picasso without thinking of her.
Merci, merci, Madame!

My deepest sympathy to the family of Madame Bourgeois. She was my French teacher for my four years at Lowell High School. She was also my customer when I worked after school at Toni's Restaurant.
