Doris had many gifts and talents. I remember visiting with her years ago, as she patiently sewed lace appliqués onto Brenda’s wedding dress. She didn’t seem a bit concerned that she only had a few days left to complete the task. Actually, patience was one of her strong character traits, unless it involved items checked out of the church library that had been kept out beyond an appropriate amount of time! Doris, you will be missed, my condolences to Lou and the children and grandchildren. Doris truly showed humility in this life, she always put others before herself. She was a mentor to me and taught me some of life's best lessons. I remember when she taught me that I must learn to accept the love and gifts of others when it was so very hard for me to do. She was a blessing to all of the children and her family. She was a very strong woman with lots of passion in her faith and serving...
