Doris Ruenell Givans

I was a 7th grade student of Mrs. Givens at Yuba Gardens in 1958/59 and 59/60. After her sewing class, I could sew anything. When my 8th grader daughter graduated from Yuba Gardens in 1981, a teacher complimented her on her dress. My daughter told her that her mom had made it. The teacher flipped up the hem to see if it were so. Thank you Mrs. Givens. She was expecting her first child the second year and showed us girls you could be expecting and still be beautiful.

Auntie Nell, I have known and loved you my whole life and was so lucky to have you as my auntie! You taught me how to sew when I was in the third grade, and I still have the dress from all those years ago. I will love and miss you forever. Tara
