Not sure what to say?

My condolences to your family. I had the great pleasure of meeting Doris when she was a student of my balance class. I loved her energy and spunkiness and often told told her that I hoped to have her enthusiausm and passion for life into my 90s. She was clearly an example of living life to the fullest everyday. I had the pleasure of only knowing her for a few short weeks, but she left a life long impression on me and how I want to age!

Hollie and I

Meeting Doris and Emmie when my WMTD Hollie and I were at Wildwood less than three weeks ago was a real pleasure! I left that day feeling like we had found wonderful new friends. When I read the obituary I felt like I had lost an old friend. I'm saddened we didn't have a chance to pursue a friendship but so very happy to have met her and Emmie.

Kay and Marti - so very sad to hear of your loss. Such an accomplished woman. Loved her enthusiasm in Spanish class. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

Kim, Kay, Doug, and Marty-the beautiful obituary you wrote perfectly captured your mom, and my cousin Doris. My condolences to you and her sisters Marilyn and Adeline. All of the "Gittlen girls" we're role models for me-not the least of which was Doris. Thinking of all of you, and sending my love.

On Mother's Day, I read the sad news in the obituaries of the Grand Rapids Press that my friend and "other mother", Doris has left this world. She will be so missed. She made this world a better place. I have memories from our old neighborhood in Alger Heights where I was "best friends" with the twins. Doris and Don were friends with my parents and our families became forever connected. We moved from Alger Heights to a house directly across the street from Doris' parents and the connection...

Rarely does a month pass that I don't speak of the wonderful, humorous, compassionate, intelligent, kind, accepting, delightful, gal that I played tennis with years ago, who made a lasting impression on me. Thank for the laughs, the warmth and being a grand example to all who were so blessed to have crossed paths with you. My sympathies to your family. Peace.

I have lovely memories of Doris whenever she was with Sylvia. May she rest in peace.

Doris was a true gem. Though 40+ years older than me, she was my first friend at FSC when my wife Lisa and I joined 15 years ago. I am better for having known Doris.

Dear Linda.
We were very saddened to hear of the passing of your dear Doris.
May her memory be a blessing to all those she knew.
