Doris Davis Hamiter

Plain Dealing, LA - Graveside services for Mrs. Doris Davis Hamiter, age 85 Years, will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at the Hamiter Cemetery, Plain Dealing, LA, with Rev. Eddie Kazy officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Plain Dealing.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2016, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hamiter was born on October 30, 1931 to Jimmy and Ethel Lou Nealy Davis in Shongaloo, LA and passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 in Plain Dealing. She was a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church, and was a homemaker. She loved making blankets and quilts, and loved her dog "Ginger" dearly. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two daughters, Shirley Shelton and husband, Gary of Bossier City, Vickie Yellott and husband, Donnie of Plain Dealing; son, Barry Hamiter and wife, Jeanie of Plain Dealing; seven grandchildren, Sherry Craven, Tim Yellott, Gary Shelton, Ben Yellott, Josh Yellott, Casey Hamiter, Mickie Hamiter; seven great-grandchildren, Gracie Yellott, Luke Yellott, Spencer Yellott, Katie Weeks, Kohner Shelton, Kyle Hamiter, Kason Shelton; two step-grandchildren, Cassidy Craven, Chase Craven; step-great grandson, Kessler Matlock; two brothers, Wayne Davis and wife, Joanne, Jimmy Davis, Jr. and wife, Carol; three sisters, Betty Weeks, Nell Matlock and husband, Mike, Glenda McKenzie and husband, Joe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hamiter was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, J. B. Hamiter.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of the donor's choice.
