I am a sister inlaw to Doris,we spent quite a bit of time together
when she was married to my brother.
She helped to take care of him when
he was in the Bethesda hospital
after he was wounded on Iwo Gima.
She was a great person. Always ready
to help somebody. May the Good Lord

There are few people in life who include you among their adopted family, and Grandma Heagy was one of those people. She welcomed me into her life and always made me feel loved and like one of her grandchildren whenever I spent time with her. Summers in Hershey at her house with Caitlin were times of adventure with marathon park visits, trolley rides and even drinking shirley temples and dancing the electric slide at a ballroom dancing event. We miss our Grandma Heagy dearly. She filled such an important place in our family that we are feeling her loss. She kept our family together and always had a quick joke or witty comeback no matter the occasion.

We will always remember her valueable lessons of kindness to all humans regardless of race, age, or religion. She was a friend to everyone she met.

We hope she is up in heaven dancing the Charleston right now!

It's hard to sum up Disco Dot in a few words. As my mom-in-law and later as "just" my friend, she was always loving and interested in my life. I've never known anyone so patient and tolerant, so giving and forgiving. She remained sharp as a tack as she grew older, able to master her internet skills and always asking me about my dogs by name even though she barely knew them. She could tell a good joke no matter how rotten she was feeling. This last year, I knew she was ready to let go of this...

Grandma Heagy will always be one of my favorite people, my inspiration. She had a long and wonderful life. She was one of the few people who was able to defy the aging process. She had more energy and life in her than her body could keep up with. She lives in me as an inspiration and I know there is a part of her in all who knew her. I love you Twinkletoes!

This extraordinary woman was a dear friend of mine and to all of my family. She was an angel amoung us all and now she is released to join the Heavenly throng of angels. She was the most giving person I know with a wonderful, sometimes known as kooky, sense of humor.

While we will miss her immeasurably we celebrate the joy of her release from suffering to dance through Heaven.
