Doris was a wonderful mentor to many. I especially loved how she encouraged those who were passionate about church libraries in the Pacific Northwest. We have an active and well stocked library at the Baptist Church in Brownsville Oregon because she and Don drove the 2 hours to teach us how to establish it. I will always be so grateful.

Doris will always be an inspiration to my family. She was introduced in 1961 as Dick Howard's fiance. Dick is a long time family friend. The two raised two wonderful boys, whom I babysat. Dick and Doris were a lovely couple who were clearly devoted to the Lord and their family. Doris resides with her Heavenly family now, free of pain. Such a sweet woman will be missed by many.
