Doris HUTTON

Doris and Henry have been my cruise clients at AAA Auto Club for the past 14yrs and I have had the pleasure to work closely with them planning all thier wonderful cruises around the world. Henry, I am so sad to hear of Doris's passing and will pray for you and your family.

When I read Mrs. Hutton's obituary, a flood of childhood memories washed over me. She taught me keyboards and percussion in the 5th through 7th grades at Magruder Elementary, and I learned far more than just playing the instruments. She inspired me and every one of her students to be the best they could be. I will never forget her and those times - they were the most precious in my life, and I thank her for her presence and her positive influence. Rest in peace, Mrs. Hutton.

I learned to play saxophone in the 5th grade at Magruder Elementary, under the tutelage of Mrs. Hutton. In 7th grade she encouraged me to play the baritone sax, even though my hand wouldn't stretch far enough to play a low C. Now, almost 50 years later, nearly every aspect of my life has been influenced by music; it was my major in college and I have played in bands since I was 15. And it all started with her showing me how to properly hold the horn. Thank you, Mrs. Hutton.

Henry,This is a very impersonal way to offer my sympathy but I don't know how to contact you. I always appreciated so much what kind and thoughtful friends you and Doris were to my parents and Chris enjoyed seeing you in Florida. You have my sincerest condolences. Mrs. Hutton was my music director from 7th-9th grades at Thrope Jr. High School. She was an excellent teacher, vocalist and director. She expected hard work and respect and if she didn't get the results she wanted, one could see the fire in her eyes! I will not forget her. I offer my prayers to her family.

I recall growing up with Mrs. Hutton as our neighbor, and that as a little guy I was a little frightened by her. As I became older, I recognized her and Mr. Hutton as wonderful neighbors and friends. I'll always remember her laugh that could be heard into our yard next door, that she always kept food out for birds and squirrels, and Mr. Hutton was on a never ending battle with the Magnolia leaves.
