Mrs. Doris Marie Gibbs Jones, the daughter of the late Homer and Marie Gibbs was a native of Vinegar Bend, AL and resident of Mobile, AL. She was a graduate of Alabama State University where she received her BS and Masters degree in Elementary Education. She was proceeded in death by her sisters, Anthonette Sims, Ethelrene Woodruff and Deloris Daffin. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her husband, Ervin Jones; two children, Gina (Tilton)Scott and Errol Jones; three grandchildren; Tilton (Trameka) Scott, Jr., Brandon (Caryn) Scott and Sean (Brittany) Scott; four great grandchildren,Trenton, Tianna, Kingston, and Sean Scott, Jr., ; three nieces, Gwendolyn (Gilbert) Preyer, Lynette (Doremus)Wallace, and Carlotta (Mark)White; two nephews, Leroy (Delisa ) Sims and Zack (Cashmire) Daffin; two great nieces, Gia (Bart) Wiggins, and Gwenea Essex; a special friend, Leo Florence; a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m Celebration of Life Hour at Union Baptist Church, Rev. Derek Tucker, Pastor and Officiating Minister. Interment will follow on in the Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Theodore, AL. Arrangements are entrusted to the careful direction of Reese Funeral Home.
