Not sure what to say?

We shall miss one of our best friends, but we will retain the fond memories of both Col. & Doris when they were here in Norristown, PA, as well as the times we had together when visiting in Columbia, SC. May she rest in peace.

She was a great lady. She and Col. Leven were two of the nicest people I have had the pleasure of knowing. She will be sadly missed.

We will always keep the great memories of Doris in our hearts. She was such a loving and kind person to everyone she met. We will certainly miss the phone calls and the visits from Doris and Fred when they traveled to St. Petersburg, FL to visit their grand-daughter, Gabby. When we visited Doris and Fred in Blue Bell, PA, they always made you feel so at home. In loving memory of two wonderful people, we will love you forever. Love Louise Mack and Family

Ernest & E. Pearl Smith (friends) of Doris and Col. Leven for years. We will miss visiting her when we are in Saluda,S.C. However, we know that she is at rest with Col and that make both of us happy as much as we will miss her smiling and great hospitallty that she extended to us.

She was a dear friend of my Nana. I will always remember both Col and Mrs Leven with fondness

Doris & Fred were friends of my parents, Pearl & Estelle McFarland. They were great people and became my friends after mom and dad passed away. A few years after they left Mt. Zion and relocated to South Carolina, so did my husband Bennie and I. We had the opportunity to share on various occassions within the AME connection before Bennie passed away and then after his passing, Doris & Fred kept up with me and the kids here in Florence. I know Daryl it is hard, but you were blessed with...

I have only great memories of Doris and Col. They were a true inspiration to all who had the privilege to know them. Doris had the most pleasant personality and smile. She always saw the best in others and encouraged those who knew her to do the same. I am sure that she is sitting with her beloved Fred at the right hand of the Lord looking down and smiling on us all.

You and your family are in my prayers.

I will always remember Mrs. Leven. Seeing her photo has brought back memories. When I was younger, she taught Sunday School at Mt. Zion AME Church in Norristown, PA. I remember her gentle and kind nature. She would present us with a new Bible every year for Christmas and was always sure to sign her name in presenting the book to us. I still have several of the Bibles today. She will definitely be missed.

We are sadden of the passing of Doris Leven. She was very special to our family - a dear friend and definitely a mother-like figure. We will miss her, the conversations, and the advice she always offered along with much love. We are thankful for having the privilege of knowing Doris for over 30 years, as she and Colonel Fred took our family under their wings after relocating to PA from NY. Doris was dear to everyone she met and I'm sure we all have lots of sweet memories. Our love,...
