Itook ballet lessons from Miss Marsh for ten years and also
played the piano for some of her classes. I danced in two of the ballets she choreographed for the Young Peoples concerts that the Saginaw Symphony gave.She was an excellent teacher and a classy lady.I remember her with fondness and appreciate the love of dance she instilled in me.

I will think of Doris when I see The Nutcracker.
The benches and ballet barres her father made are in our studios today. Her contribution to dance and the arts in our area was substantial.

Doris was my teacher at South Elementary 60+ years ago, and we would see each other occasionally here and there in subsequent years. She was a good old gal, and fostered a love of reading in many of us.
