DECATUR - Doris Ruth Maxwell , 74 of Decatur passed away at 12:30 p.m. Thursday (4-21-05) in her home with her loved ones by her side. Graveside services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday (4-25-05) in Mt. Gilead Cemetery with visitation from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Monday at Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Doris was born on September 11, 1930 in Humphrey, Arkansas the daughter of Edgar & Hallie Lobirdia Sanders. She worked at Borg-Warner, Eldorado Garment Factory, Walrus Manufacturing Co. and was a homemaker for more than 50 years. She married Lloyd Kirt Maxwell on July 6, 1946. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2003. She leaves behind her sons: Mark Maxwell of Decatur, Scott (Laura) Maxwell of Decatur; daughter: Brenda ( John) Gulley of Pierson Station; daughter-in-law: Shiela Maxwell of Harristown; grandchildren: Chad Gulley, Krystal Maxwell, Billy Gallagher and Matthew Maxwell; great grandchildren: Destiney, Austin, Selena and Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Robert Lloyd Maxwell and sister: Mary Kirtdoffer. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Decatur Memorial Hospital Hospice and the nurses at Decatur Memorial Hospital for their loving care they gave Doris.
