My dad had 5 brothers and sisters and my mom had 3. But of all the aunts and uncles homes, Doris and Bennie's was our favorite place to go. Bennie's Mexican style food could not be beat. My siblings and I enjoyed playing outside with Matt in their big yard by the railroad tracks. I watched through the years as Alsip seemed to transform from simple country village to being a part of metro Chicago. Dear Bennie, Matthew & Family,

Pete and I are sadden to hear of Doris's passing. I have many fond memories of BBQ's and other parties that I have attended at your home when we were young. I can still hear her telling us kids to get out of the house and go outside and play!
