Not sure what to say?

As one of her former secretaries, Mrs. Mims was an inspiration to those she came in contact with while she was Principal at P.S. 42. I was fortunate enough to get my first school secretary job with her. May God grant her family the peace and grace they need at this difficult time.

To the Mims Family,
We are sorry for you lost, May she rest in peace.

Dear Grace and Family,

So sorry to have heard about your mom's passing. She was a wonderful person.

Fondly,
Joan Peterson (P.S. 16)

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help at this time.

Our deepest condolences to Mr Mins and family.I was especially fortunate to follow Mrs Mims as the Principal at PS 42.The traditions and academic excellence were easy for me to continue because of her 14 years of establishing such a strong foundation. We will all remember Mrs Mims as a wonderful educator and human being. She will be missed, but enriched our lives. Nancy and Arthur Hecht.

I first knew Doris Mims at CSI as my instructor in an Early Childhood Class. She was kind, sweet, and always encouraging her students to aim higher. She made us feel great- no mattter how insignificant our contributions were! I then knew her later on when she came to P.S. 16 as an acting principal. In a short amount of time, she knew the names of all staff members! She jumped right in and supervised as if she had always been there! Again--kind, positive, encouraging, appreciative...just...

To the Mims family my deepest sympathy. Mrs. Mims was a gem of a person. Our days at P.S. 42 were brightened by her presence. Mr. Mims my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your friend Dr. Jerry

Tom and Linda Woods want to express our deepest sympathy.

Our family was saddened to hear of her passing. All of our children were students at P.S. 42 and we remember her gentle leadership, compassion, and good sense of humor. It was a wonderful place to learn under her guidance and she will surely be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her. The LaMarsh Family
