DORIS DOWNS MITCHELL

Just read about Mrs. Mitchell's passing, and am saddened, but also know she is with our Lord and with Mr. Mitchell and Mr. & Mrs. Downs! They were all so very sweet to me while I was growing up next door to them. They even took me to the lake! I remember Mrs. Mitchell getting me up before daylight and we went out in the boat to a quiet place to fish - what a treat for me!

They always bought whatever I was selling as a school fundraiser!

Although I never met Mrs. Mitchell, my life has been blessed by working with Dr. Dixon Mitchell (her son)and being a part of he and Carolyn's life. My prayers go out to the family with all the love in my heart.

Doris and Dick were special in our lives as friends and their pastor. I first met Dick while pastoring at Childersburg. Dick and I both loved bird hunting, and bird dogs. We bred some dogs together. After becoming Dick and Doris' pastor, we became very close. I have never met anyone who loved God more than Dick and Doris Mitchell. They loved The Lord Jesus and lived to serve Him. I never doubted their love for Christ and their love for me and Brenda. Heaven is richer, and we are left...
