Highlands Funeral Home Obituary

REDMON, Doris Marian Gambert, 94, of Louisville died Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Twinbrook Nursing Home.

Born in Louisville, the former Doris Gambert was a 1934 graduate of Atherton High School, a member of St. Andrew United Church of Christ, and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Redmon; a son, C. David Redmon; a daughter, Lee Ann Zwemer; and brother, Wilbert Gambert.

Doris is survived by her son, Walter L. Redmon (Joan); daughter, Sherrill Redmon; sister, Mildred Bullard; daughter-in-law, Ellen Redmon; son-in-law, Rodger Zwemer; Goddaughter, Susan Bullard; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20 at St. Andrew United Church of Christ, 2608 Browns Ln., with burial in Cave Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, from 4-8 p.m. at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at Twinbrook Apartments and Twinbrook Nursing Home, and the staff at Baptist Hospital East for their compassionate care.

Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or to Wayside Christian Mission.
