I stumbled across Doris's obit by accident. We are distant cousins and she helped me a great deal with my McAlpin/e side. I hadn't spoken (by email) with her in a while. Her book is a great help. I truly am sorry for your loss. I moved to Alabama a couple of years ago, I'm sorry I never got to meet her.

Jim so sorry, I missed this until today. Had hoped to visit with you again soon, and find Doris improved and in a rehab. We are still taking it one day at a time with Rick's rehab at Valley View in Madison. I will miss all of our trips and fun times with you and my cousin Doris, love you Sue and Rick

Fred and I appreciate the work Doris did to make the "Fabulous Friends" church group fun with the annual chili supper and white elephant gift exchange every year. Her friendliness and faithful attendance at church will be remembered by many.

Doris was a friend for many years and my heart goes out to Jim and the family. I admired her many talents and well remember her genealogy research, the great "One Day Trips from Huntsville" booklet she wrote,and how proud she was of her family.
