Doris McGrew "Bootsie" Seals

A native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Ventress, she died at her home on Sunday, September 7, 2014. She was 78, and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She graduated from Istrouma High School, class of 1954, attended Northwestern School of Nursing, and was a member of North Highland Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Ernest C. Seals; 4 sons: Ernest Lindsay Seals, Christopher Andrew Seals, Timothy William Seals, and Randall Joseph Seals; and a brother, Thomas Lindsay McGrew II. She is also survived by her grandchild, Blake Hathaway; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, T. Lindsay McGrew; her mother Dorothy Neames McGrew; and sisters: Bobbie Ann McGrew Moore and Bonnie McGrew Seals. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St, on Tuesday evening from 5pm until 8pm, and will resume on Wednesday morning at 9:30am until funeral service at 11am. Interment will follow at Seals Cemetery in Washington Parish. Pallbearers will be her sons. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to the American Heart Association.
