Dear Shanks Family, I worked with Doris for about 2 yrs at First National Bank (now Wells Fargo) in the early 70s. I was barely 20 and it was my 2nd year in the big world work force. Doris and I ate lunch together often. She had such a strong work ethic, spiritual faith, love for her family and sense of humor! She was a great friend, co-worker, and influence. She will be greatly missed, I'm sure. So sorry for your loss.

Dear Cousins Louise & Ray: So sad to hear about Aunt Doris passing away. She was a favorite aunt. I remember my cousin Tim & I always running and hiding from her as we didn't want her big hugs. I was so afraid of the big "monkey" tree in her front yard--what a strange memory! I also remember the toys she had in her house--they were antiques even back then. Chinese Checkers were big at her house. It seemed we always laughed around her. Thinking of you,

Doris was lovingly called "Lady" by myself, and my family. She will be deeply missed. We shared many years as friends, and I will always hold her memories in my heart. Our condolences to Louise and Ray and their families.

As a child, I remember many visits to "Aunt Doris's" for dinner. We looked forward each time to her noodle soup. She was always very kind and had a warm smile. Thinking of all of you. Pam (Pifher) Leavitt

Louise and Ray, you have our family's sincere condolences. Doris was indeed a very nice lady and Mom to her children.

Clancy, my deceased husband, drove the Sunday School bus which Louise and Ray rode to church and they liked to chat with him.

Ray became a very good friend with our son, Bill. Bill lost connection with him but thought about him Saturday. Bill is in the same house, as am I.

Sincerely,

Wanita

I remember living next door to Doris for many years and were very sad when she moved. I used to shovel her sidewalk whenever it snowed and one year she went out and bought a new snow shovel and came over and gave it to me and I still use that same shovel today. My wife remembers looking out the window and admiring her because she was hefting logs into a woodchipper all by herself. At the time she was in her late sixties, maybe seventies. Quite the woman. We know she will be missed. Sincerely,...
