Not sure what to say?

May Aunt Doris forever rest in peace. The last time we met was at Herb's memorial.

Doris was a good friend and neighbor for many years. We walked together around Irvington for exercise and admiring the houses and plants. She was a good driver and drove her little dog and my Alaskan Husky to her beach house in Cannon Beach so we could all enjoy the sand and sun. I will miss her. I found out when her death was announced at our church.

Doris was a longtime peace activist and a valued member of the Portland Branch of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (1034 SW 13th Ave, Portland 97205). We at WILPF miss her and send our sympathy to all her loving family.

I met Doris at The Elderberry Inn where I work as a waitress. She and Phil would come in on their way to Cannon Beach to go to the theater. They had season tickets. My Mom and I went to the theater one showing and were sitting in Dorises seats which she told us were her seats. I loved seeing them when they came to the restaurant, She showed me her engagement ring. She was a special lady, I was blessed to have known her.

She was my Uncle's mother, and a great woman. I have found memories of spending Easter with the family at her cabin. She was always one of the kindest women I knew. I'm sad I didn't get to know her better, or what a life she had! My thoughts and condolences go out do Dan, Cathy, Paige, and Jessica. She was such a nice and wonderful person.

Doris and Herb were close friends of my parents, Sam and Alix. I have good memories of their being in our home, of our being in theirs, of attending theatre and music events together all during my growing-up years. Doris and Herb were a strong couple in both adversity and good times. Good role models. My sympathetic thoughts to Dan and family.
