Mrs. Doris M. Swanson, loving mother and grandmother, 86, of Franklin, NH, formerly of North Easton, Mass., died at Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia on May 25, 2008.
She was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada on April 12, 1922 the daughter of Edgar and Aimee (Sherren) Crossman. Mrs. Swanson was raised in Brockton, MA and was a graduate of Brockton High School. She later attended The Kingman School in Brockton where she received her nurse’s training. She was an LPN and worked over twenty years at Brockton City Hospital prior to retiring. Mrs. Swanson resided in Easton and North Easton for 62 years before moving to Franklin, NH 2 years ago. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in N. Easton and was the widow of Arnold M. Swanson who died last April.
Family members include her 5 children: Kathleen E. Hanson of Mansfield, MA; David A. Swanson and his wife Sharon of Taunton, MA; Marilyn St. James and her husband James Iseman of Franklin, NH; Donald A. Swanson and his wife Sandy of Millis, MA; and Laurie S. Elliott of Laconia, NH, 22 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Swanson of Taunton, MA, a sister, Eleanor Straffin of Duxbury, MA, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Robert J. Swanson and a sister, Marilyn Saley.
Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, May 30th at 1:30 pm at NH Veterans Cemetery, Rte. 3, Boscawen, NH.
