Mrs. Dorothea Walker Funk, 70, of Liberty Avenue, Clarksburg, passed away suddenly Monday, June 16, 2003 at her residence. Mrs. Funk was a retired data processor for Consolidated Natural Gas, formerly Hope Gas Company. She was born in Lewis County, Broad Run Community, July 21, 1932, a daughter of the late Claude and Grace Cross Walker. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, James G. Funk, whom she married June 1, 1956. Also surviving are two sons, Brad Funk and his wife, Wendy, Clarksburg, and Brian Funk and his wife, Sandy, Culpeper, Virginia, four beloved grandchildren, Adam and Lindsay Funk, Clarksburg, and Trevor and Haleigh Funk, Culpeper, Virginia. Mrs. Funk was a member of the Stealey United Methodist Church where she became a member in 1957. She was also a member of Circle Four and a leader of the group. She and her husband were members of the Wesley Weds Sunday School Class. She taught Sunday School and Bible School. Mrs. Funk helped start the pre-school at the Stealey United Methodist Church. She enjoyed boating, cross stitch, gardening and watching her grandchildren participate in school and sporting activities. Mrs. Funk was a volunteer at United Hospital Center, chairing the volunteer luncheons. Family and friends may call at the Davis Funeral Home, One Olen Thomas Drive, Rt. 98, Clarksburg, Wednesday from 6-8pm, and Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8, where funeral services will be held Friday, June 20th at 11:00 am.
