Gloria, What can I say about your mother except that she was a very special lady. She was always involved in so many things and gave her all to all of them. What total devotion! I'm sure she's in heaven helping God with many tasks. How proud you must be to say "I'm Dot Benner's daughter."

We are so sorry for your loss. We have fond memories of Mrs. Benner as such a warm and kind lady, from many years ago during riding lessons. Our prayers are with you.

Dot was a remarkable gem! Her program with Brockton's legendary Stan Bauman was a a true classic. My best friend Stephen Roy made sure she will always be remembered by preserving her unique charm on videotape as a living history. I only got to see Dot a few times but she seemed like everyone's grandmother.

Dear Gloria, Jen and Jason,
Although my memories of 'Mrs Benner' are many and span over half of a century I still picture her standing by her office door at Dyer giving those wonderful hugs as needed as only she could. Not only was she my principal but also my 5th and 6th grade teacher. How she made those years special. I especially recall the square dances, chocolate milk and ice cream (unusual then), flower picking day for May baskets, lunch with her at the old 'Browns', and just...

I spent most of my life in Whitman and Dorothy was one of the most caring people I have ever known. Having spent much of my youth as a Girl Scout, she spent endless time with Camp Alice Carleton. She had her hand in everything and knew everyone by name. Dot will be greatly missed and I have wonderful memories of her. May her family take solice in knowing how much she was respected and appreciated.

Mrs.Benner was not only my principal at the dyer school, but my friend..She was there for me ALWAYS.Not only at school but she use to come to my home to see me.I worked in the office and use to walk to DUVALS drugstore to get Mrs. Benner lunch.(along with Mrs.Long,and Mrs.Tucker)I have fond memories of Mrs.Benner..May she rest in peace and sing with the angels for the rest of time..
