Owens and Brumley Funeral Home - Wichita Falls Obituary

Dorothy Louise Brewer, 81, of Iowa Park passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026 surrounded by her husband Willie Brewer and children David Brewer, Donna Baker and Jennifer Reid. She was born on September 25, 1944, in Dallas, TX and lived a life devoted to her family, faith, and the people she loved so dearly.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 18 from 6-8 pm at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.  Funeral Services will be Thursday, February 19 at 10:00 am at The First Presbyterian Church in Bowie, Texas officiated by Steve Sullwold and Caleb Myers. Interment will be held at the Montague cemetery. Pallbearers are grandsons Conner Brewer, Cody Myers, Grayson Seay, Zane Seay, Kyle Baker, Devon Reid, Bryce Reid, Braylen Brewer, and Jackson Reid.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of Willie Brewer, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership. They were married on July 20, 1960. Together they built a family that became her greatest pride and joy. They came from humble beginnings and through dedication and hard work throughout their lives were able to purchase First State Bank of Ryan, OK and operated the bank for over 20 years. Their employees were family.

She was a devoted mother to her son, David Brewer and wife Kandle of Iowa Park, Tx; and her daughters, Donna Baker and husband Larry of Wichita Falls and Jennifer Reid and husband Darrell of Seminole, Ok.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Loraine Martin and many nephews and nieces that loved her dearly.

Dorothy’s legacy continues through her many cherished grandchildren: Conner Brewer and wife Lindsey; Kamryn Ritz and husband Micah; Maijor Brewer; Devin Waitman; Brandi Dorman; Lindsay Myers and husband Cody; Kyle Baker and wife Tara; Zane Seay; Grayson Seay and wife Amber; Cassie Donald Lyons; James Donald; Braylen Brewer; Jackson Reid; Bryce Reid; and Devon Reid and wife Kenzie; along with numerous great and great-great grandchildren whom she adored.

Dorothy loved her church family and was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bowie.

Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, brothers, sister Mary Hartenberger and daughter, Susan Brewer.

Dorothy will be remembered for her kind heart, her steady presence, and the love she poured into her home and family. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love remains woven into the lives of her family, and her memory will be carried forward for generations to come.
