Dorothy Huber Turner "Dottie," age 88, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 10, 2005. Formerly of Mt. Lebanon, she was the loving wife for almost 65 years of Dr. Oliver E. Turner "Ollie," who passed away on May 16, 2005. She was the devoted mother of Wendy Meyer and Sue Vaughan of Midlothian, Va., Donna Corbelli of Richmond, Va., and Lynne Turner of Chesterfield, Va.; and the adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren, Liesl Wintheiser, Debbie Plowman, Kyle Meyer, Lauri and Scott Mendenhall, Amanda, Ryan, and Cody Corbelli. She is also survived by a niece, Heather Huber Graham of Doylestown, Pa. Born in suburban Philadelphia, Pa., she was a graduate of Upper Darby High School (1934), and the Berte School of Fashion Design. In addition to her family, her proudest accomplishments were her involvement as past president of the Allegheny County Medical Society, active member of the Fruit and Flower Committee of Mercy Hospital, and a founding member of Christ United Methodist Church, Bethel Park, Pa. Dottie will always be remembered for her love, support and devotion to her family, her graciousness and kindness to a wide circle of friends, as well as her endless energy and spunk! Her lifelong obsession with the Pittsburgh Steelers has been passed on to all her children and grandchildren, who rejoice that on her first day in Heaven she was able to watch the perfect Steelers home opener with her husband Ollie from the best seats in the house. Our Dad asked us to take care of our Mom, but in the end even four daughters couldn't fill the void of his shoes. Friends will be received on Saturday, September 17, from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3319 West Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa. The family will also receive friends at a reception immediately following the service. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, "Christus Garden". In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Bon Secours Hospice, Richmond Health System, 8580 Magellan Parkway, Building IV, Richmond, Va. 23227, in honor of the loving care and support they provided to our Mom and Dad, or Pittsburgh Mercy Foundation, 1514 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15219-5112, in honor of our parents' contributions to Mercy over the years.
