Manning-Heffern-O’Neill Funeral Home - Pawtucket Obituary

Dorothy Patricia Gray, 84, of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. She was the wife of the late William Gray and took great pride in the family and career they cultivated during their 61 years of marriage. A strong matriarch of her family, she raised her children, Peter Gray Sr., John Gray, and the late Lynda McGinn. She then acted as mother to all four of her grandchildren, Peter Gray Jr., Thomas Gray, Patrick Gray, and Maranda McGinn. She loved and delighted in her four great-grandchildren, Brigid, Beckett, Lir, and Brinnlynd Gray. Many others throughout her hometown of Pawtucket and broader Rhode Island have felt “Nana’s” love and care.

Pat’s love of travel began as a child when her parents, the late Harold and Dorothy (Ward) Reeney, took her on numerous cross country trips in the back of their car. For the majority of her life, Pat’s calendar was punctuated by regular trips to Aruba and cruises throughout the region, a love shared with her adoptive brother, Ronald Plante. Pat loved live music, playing cards, and conversing. She found great fulfillment in her friendships, both lifelong and newer.

Pat is deeply loved and will be remembered whenever we smell ripe strawberries, bite into a salted garden-fresh tomato, see an immaculately wrapped gift, or find pretty seashells on the beach. After a lifetime dedicated to caring for all those around her, Pat can finally rest in peace, reunited with her beloved daughter, husband, father, and creator.

The funeral will be held on Monday, January 5th at 11:00 AM from the Manning-Heffern-O’Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM, noon in Saint Teresa Church, 358 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 4th from 1:00 - 4:00 PM in the Manning Heffern-O’Neill Funeral Home, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket.

You will be very missed Nana❣Thank you for being like a second Mom, an Amazing Nana, and a GREAT FRIENDThe LOVE you have shared with all of us will last forever in our heartsWe Love You

I grew up as a child with Pat as my neighbor and my mother's friend.
As a child I remember Pat's Christmas trees and how fancy I thought they were. I was friends with all of Pat's children and visited them all at Camp Westwood, I have fun memories of that time.

We sat with Pat most Saturday nights at the Fireman's club and really enjoyed our time with her. She was a wonderful lady and we'll miss her dearly. Rest in peace my friend, you've earned it.

So sorry to hear of Pat's passing. I saw her on Saturdays and the EG Firemans club. She was a pleasure to know. I'll miss you Pat. You were a special lady.

Pat will be deeply missed by all the friends her and Bill made at the East Greenwich Fireman's Assn. A regular visitor on Saturday night she enjoyed socializing with all the friends that she had. She will be missed every Saturday night. Gene and Evie
