Not sure what to say?

I had Sister Dorothy for AP English my Senior year at DePaul High School. I can still to this day recite the poems that had to be committed to memory and will always remember her advice which I still use to this day, "Strive for verbal ecomony." Rest in Peace Sister Dorothy

I took one journalism course in my life and that was with Sister Dorothy at St. Mary's in Elizabeth. That was enough. I wound up spending 30 years in journalism as a writer and editor and consider her the best teacher I ever had.

I regret two things: That she left St. Mary's before I could take her junior and senior English classes, and that I never had the courage to track her down and thank her personally. Rest in peace, Sister Dorothy.

God bless Sr. Dorothy! You have to be a special kind of person to maintain the serenity & patience she had while teaching a rowdy bunch of high school sophomores how to appreciate "Beowolf". Rest in peace, Sister, you have earned it.

I had Sr. Dorothy at DePaul High School. She was taskmaster - and expected excellence. I remember I chose Bleak House to read for an assignment. She asked me if I really wanted to read it. Because she said "it was bleak". She was one of a kind.

Sr. Dorothy was my Literature teacher at St. Mary's High School in Elizabeth, NJ. I was in her class both Junior and Senior Year. She was a great teacher and will always be remembered for her passion in the literary works she taught as well as the usage of correct grammar. I will never forget her, not only because of my love for literature, which she and Mrs. Bartinique (Freshman and Sophomore year) fostered but also because she used to open the windows in the middle of winter so no one...

As my De Paul HS English teacher, she launched me into the joy of language which has proved useful in my careers -Pat McNamara Wong Class of 1964

She was a great teacher! May God bless her family at this time.

I would not be the avid reader or professional writer I am if it were not for Sr. Dorothy! She inspired my love of books, and made me look at the English language a whole new way. I am forever in her debt for that. Her class was one of my favorites at DePaul! My sincere condolences to her family.

Sister Dorothy impacted so many lives through her teaching. I am forever grateful to her for giving me a love of literature and an appreciation for proper grammar. May she rest in peace and deepest condolences to her friends and family.
